Microsoft Moving on Office Space Plans

REDMOND, WA-Microsoft says it will now hold 250,000 sf of Eastside space previously slated for sublease. Also, there are conflicting signs the company may be taking steps to move forward with constructing an additional 2.95 million sf.

REDMOND, WA-Earlier this year, Microsoft placed approximately 250,000 sf of leased office space up for sublease. Today, a company spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com that space will be held to accommodate anticipated future growth.

“When we made our last head count,” says Stacy Drake, “we realized that we will need those Bellevue offices.”

At last estimates, Microsoft was housed in 8.4-million sf throughout the Eastside, of which it owns an aggregate 4.9 million sf in Redmond, Bellevue and Issaquah. The software giant’s main 3.84-million sf campus sits on 265 acres in Redmond.
