Peak Entertainment Strikes Chord with 70,000-SF Venue

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO-Resort developer Intrawest Corp. and the newly formed Peak Entertainment Group ink a deal for a 70,000-sf, multi-million-dollar entertainment and recording complex at Copper Mountain Resort.

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO-Resort developer Intrawest Corp. and the newly minted Peak Entertainment Group LLC have signed a letter of intent to build a year-round, multi-million-dollar entertainment and recording complex at the Copper Mountain Resort in the mountains west of Denver. The proposed 70,000-sf venue will include two performance halls for music, theater and film, high definition video/audio recording studios and a high-tech conference center.

The complex also will feature a broadband transmission facility to link with a network of affiliated venues and to showcase live entertainment from around the world.

The project, which is still in the planning stages and subject to review and approval, is targeting a 2003 opening. Copper Mountain is the first venture by Peak Entertainment Group, which hopes to develop similar facilities with Canadian-based Intrawest, owner of resorts in the US and Canada.
