Forbes Industrial Park is a retired air force base called Forbes Field that is now being sold off and converted in an industrial park. The park is located south of Topeka near US Hwy 75 and Interstate 470, according to Ed Eller, a spokesman for KS Commercial.

Packerware is leasing a portion of Building # 2703, which is owned by Bob Stilwell, a local individual investor. Mike Morse with KS Commercial, who represented the owner, and Doug Hedrick with The Winbury Group Inc., who represented Packerware, negotiated the lease. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Packerware is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evansville, Indiana based Berry Plastics Corp. Berry Plastics purchased Packerware in 1997. Packerware also has a 500,000 sf production facility in Lawrence, KS, that employs 353 people.
