Miller was chosen to serve indefinitely as an independent trustee on the board, which is responsible for overseeing the business operations of the fund group.

Miller works from San Francisco, representing tenants throughout the Western United States for Jones Lang LaSalle, a major real estate services and investment firm. His clients include Electronic Data Systems, AT&T Wireless, Citibank, Aon Corp. and America Online.

Miller joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 1999 after practicing real estate law with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

The board's other members are Stephen C. Rogers, president of the California Funds; Phillip W. Sias, independent trustee, former president and CEO of Chronicle Publishing Company.
