The $17-million hotel, which took one year to build, is located at 1855 S. Manchester Ave. Situated on a three-acre parcel, it shares a pool and other common areas with the adjacent 264-room Holiday Inn. The Staybridge Suites' amenities include a fully equipped business center, 24-hour convenience store and workout facility.

R.D. Olson was the general contractor for the project, developed by Six Continents, formerly known as Bass Hotels & Resorts. It is the 37th location that Atlanta-based Staybridge Suites has opened. "In the last three years, we have created a chain of close to 85 hotels including those under construction and development," says Jim Anhut, senior vice president and brand manager of Staybridge Suites.

The Anaheim Resort Zone includes entertainment, retail and hospitality components that involved more than a decade of planning. The $4-billion development is an undertaking of the state of California, city of Anaheim and local developers. Its key developments include the 55-acre California Adventure theme park and the 15-acre Downtown Disney retail and entertainment center.
