Miami Beach businessman Lewis G. Gordon controls SGP Inc. of Henderson, NV which directs Southern Golf Partners.
Golf Trust embarked on the liquidation plan last year, citing limited availability of debt and equity capital and unfavorable economic trends affecting the golf course industry. In a plan approved earlier this year, the company's board of directors authorized the disposal of 14 golf courses in Florida, including five in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The company reports it owns 23 remaining golf courses out of the 44 it owned in 2000.
