Oracle had planned to build an 830,000-sf campus on 12 acres, but decided this summer not to go through with the project.
Commerce One is contemplating breaking up its 27-acre site and selling it to developers to construct apartments or stores.
Cisco Systems has postponed plans to build an office campus on a 34-acre site, opting instead to settle for a nearby 110,000-sf office space.
The only company charging head with plans is Sun Microsystems, which still plans to develop its 750,000-sf Dublin headquarters. However, the purchase of the land has not been finalized with the county.
Dublin's Emerald Park may have the right idea. Rather than developing office space, the 700-acre property is aimed at residential and retail development. A new apartment complex, Safeway and Home Depot are in the construction stages, and the property is being marketed for homes and stores.
