In addition, AMC Theaters will open a 16-screen theater in the center.
The center's developer, Madison Marquette, recently purchased 20 acres of land from the city of Emeryville to construct the 400,000-sf retail plaza, which will include apartments and a hotel. The project also includes 1,900 new parking spaces hidden from view in parking structures integrated with the buildings.
Matt Alexander and Bob Berndt of Staubach Retail Services negotiated with Bay Street on behalf of Barnes and Nobles in securing the lease. The terms of the lease were not released.
