Phoenix-based Westcor, the developer of FlatIron, expects the long-awaited theater to give a boost to the village section, which hasn't proven has popular as the main, enclosed mall.

As with all new theaters, the FlatIron AMC features stadium seating and the latest high-tech sound and video systems.

The theater will employ as many as 125 people.

The 2,500-seat theater is expected to draw 750,000 to a 1 million viewers annually.
