People Needed for City Planning Panel

TACOMA, WA-The Tacoma Planning Commission has several vacancies and is looking for a few volunteers to help serve on the panel. The term for the volunteer positions begins January 2002 and will expire Dec. 31, 2005.

TACOMA, WA-People looking to help shape the city’s future economic development and possess the right experience or necessary address, can apply for open positions on the Tacoma Planning Commission.

The Planning Commission has openings for three volunteers: one from Council District Number 4-generally Tacoma’s East Side, including the McKinley Avenue and Salishan neighborhoods; one with experience in public transportation; and one who possesses a background in architecture, historic preservation and/or urban design. The term for the volunteer positionsbegins January 2002 and will expire Dec. 31, 2005.

As a member of the Planning Commission, the chosen applicants will advise the City Council on issues that will impact the city’s comprehensive plan, neighborhood planning, land use and development regulations and other land use issues.
