The 5,400-sf imaging center is expected to open by the end of this year. The facility will include diagnostic tools such as magnetic resonance tools and computed tomography. "This facility will have a very significant impact on the children of our region," says Dr. Harvey Cohen, Packard chief of staff.
Current Packard patients are currently being taken to the Stanford to undergo these imaging tests. This is a difficult practice, especially with smaller children.
The AMD gift is the largest corporate donation ever made in the Packard Hospital's 10-year history. "AMD feels a sense of responsibility, in good times and bad, to ensure that the youngest and most vulnerable citizens of our community continue to receive the state-of-the-art health care they need," says AMD CEO Jerry Sanders.
