Among the Manhattan-based firm's recent transactions are the $14-8 million purchase and leaseback of the US distribution center of New Creative Enterprises announced late last month. Located east of downtown Cincinnati at the Milford Commerce park in Milford OH, Carey leased the 437,000 office-warehouse space back to NCE under a 20-year bond-type net lease with five additional five-year renewal options.

In an August transaction, Carey purchased and leased back three properties previously owned by Gerber Scientific for $19.7 million. Located in South Windsor and Manchester, CT, the office-and-industrial facilities were net-leased back to Gerber for a 17-year term with two additional 10-year options. The sites house the company's headquarters and primary manufacturing/distribution space for two of its subsidiaries: Gerber Coburn Optical Inc. and Gerber Scientific Products Inc. The three single-story properties include a 194,000-sf office/light assembly facility, a 60,000-sf office/industrial building and a 93,500-sf office/industrial space.

Also in August, Carey acquired and leased back two Westfield, MA facilities from Jen-Coat Inc for $11.5 million. Bond-type net leases on the company's 250,000-sf headquarters and main manufacturing operations and a 127,000-sf distribution/warehouse facility carry 20-year terms with two 10-year renewal options. Westfield is located 99 miles west of Boston in southwest central portion.
