Terms of the deal were not disclosed. But the purchase makes Sycuan the only tribe in San Diego County to offer a golf and casino resort facility. The 425-acre golf resort is less than three miles from the Sycuan Reservation, where the tribe operates the Sycuan Casino.

Sycuan now has three golf courses, including two 18-hole championship courses and an 18-hole, par-3 course. There is also a driving range and practice facilities. The 102-room hotel, built around the golf course, includes two swimming pools and casual and fine restaurants. Singing Hills has 11 lighted, hard-surface tennis courts.

The nearby 305,000-sf Sycuan Casino features slot machines, blackjack, poker, off-track betting, pai gow, bingo and five restaurants.

``Future plans for the property include upgrades to the golf course, additional lodging and a new conference center,'' says Singing Hills General Manager Mike Rookus.

``We look forward to carrying on the family atmosphere and top level service that Singing Hills has been providing for more than 45 years,'' says Sycuan Tribal Vice Chairman Dan Tucker. ``This property is a SanDiego landmark and we want to keep it locally-owned and operated.''

"Singing Hills is consistently rated as one of the top golf resorts in San Diego," says John Tang, Sycuan's business manager. The acquisition "adds diversity to Sycuan's economic base and, at the same time, takesour gaming business to another level,'' adds Tang.
