Company Gets Cash to Extend Light Rail Line

LA MESA, CA-An Idaho company has received a $16.7 million management contract to oversee a 5.9-mile extension of the Mission Valley East Trolley line. The Mission Valley East Line is an extension of the existing Mission Valley West Light Rail transit line.

LA MESA, CA-A Boise, ID-based engineering and construction company has received a $16.7 million construction management contract to oversee a 5.9-mile extension of the Mission Valley East Trolley line.

Washington Group International Inc.’s infrastructure services unit won the contract from the Metropolitan Transit Development Board of San Diego. The total installed cost of the project is estimated at $431million.

Michael Della Rocca, president and chief executive officer of Washington Infrastructure Services Inc. says “the award recognizes our broad experience in the construction of all the elements involved here: lightrail systems, tunnels, bridges, and highways.”
