The biggest of the deals is for a 33,108-sf space at 14 Wall St. The tenant is Fleet Meehan Specialists Inc., a subsidiary of FleetBoston Financial Corp. Fleet Meehan will occupy space on the 21st floor of the 37-story tower.

Newmark brokers Ronald Goldberger and Michael Levy acted on behalf of building owner W 12/14 Wall Acquisition Associates LLC. Joseph Harkins of the Staubach Co. and Max Kooper of Schlesinger & Co. brokered for Fleet Meehan. Terms of the lease were not disclosed, though Newmark says it's a long-term deal. Asking rents in the building are reported to be roughly $40 per sf.

Completed in 1932 by architectural firm Trowbridge & Livingston, the building is 1,043,261 on a 39,429 floorplate. It underwent a complete renovation in 1993 and received a BOMA Building of the Year award for restoration in 1997. Office tenants include Bankers Trust Co., Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP and Time Warner Telecom.

Newmark also represented Measurisk LLC, a local risk management firm, in the relocation of its headquarters to expanded space at 270 Madison Ave. Brian Waterman and Matthew Feigen brokered for Newmark Building owner Murray Hill Properties was represented by Michael Dubin.

The 11,500-sf lease, which is for the entire 13th floor of the building, is valued at $2.2 million. The 19-story, 265,000-sf building was built in 1923. Measurisk's new lease nearly doubles the firm's previous 6,000-sf quarters at 342 Madison Ave.

On the industrial side, Newmark has closed an 8,000-sf lease for Barjan Manufacturing Ltd. Barjan, a manufacturer of commercial window treatments and interior décor, had outgrown its former space at 175 Lauman Lane in Hicksville, NY.

The new space, in a 12,000-sf building at 28 Baiting Place Road in Farmingdale, NY, is in a corporate park setting. It will house the firms manufacturing and distribution operations as well as offices.

Newmark brokers Michael Hagen and Anthony Gerrato represented building owner Vincent Denino Realty. David Rotter of Sutton & Edwards Commercial Real Estate brokered for Barjan. Asking rent for the new property was $11 per sf, though the final price came to roughly $8 per sf, according to Rotter.
