The hotel was renovated on budget at $5.5 million. The hotel was acquired lastyear in an exchange of hotel properties with Hilton Hotels Corp.
Richard C. Conti, Boykin's president and chief operating officer, says the new Embassy Suites is now one of the best hotels in the company's portfolio.
Boykin Lodging Co. is a real estate investment trust that focuses on the ownership of full-service, upscale commercial and resort hotels. The company currently owns 33 hotels containing a total of 9,249 rooms located in 19 states.
