Scorch Nightclub has signed a 10-year lease for 4,045 sf. Doors open in December. In February, Hot Topic Clothing will open in a 1,675-sf spot, also a 10-year deal. On Thursday, doors opened for Fatburger Restaurant in a 1,720-sf location; Limited Too, 4,100 sf; Starbuck's Coffee Co., 1,150 sf; and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, 730 sf. All were 10-year leases, except Rocky Mountain and it signed for five years.
The Village at Desert Ridge is the centerpiece of the Desert Ridge Marketplace, a 110-acre suburban lifestyle center that combines specialty retailers with the latest entertainment offerings, theme-dining establishments and an 18-screen AMC movie theater, which opens Nov. 16. The Marketplace will have well more than one million sf of retail space.
The tenants join some of the market's hottest retailers, including Barnes & Noble, California Pizza Kitchen, Joe Boxer and Jillian's, a Louisville, KY-based entertainment attraction, in The District, the shopping center's designated "downtown" and the site of dozens of eating, shopping and entertainment establishments. Most of those retailers will mid-month.
Phoenix-based Vestar Development Co. is the developer. Vestar has been one of the most active retail developers in the Valley in the past decade and the first to build a retail center on Indian land, the Pavilions, just east of Scottsdale. The Phoenix office of CB Richard Ellis, with brokers Dave Cheatham and Darren Pitts, represent the property owner.
