Built in 1979, the Capistrano Business Park originally consisted of nine buildings. The five facilities that Burke has acquired stand on a 4.6-acre parcel inside the complex. Containing a total of 70,088 sf of industrial space, the buildings are located at 26361, 26362, 26381, 26382 and 26401 Via de Anza. Four of the facilities are already leased. The vacant building, which encompasses 17,256 sf, will be put up for sale after Burke renovates it.

Burke was represented by Mike Baker and Guy LaFerrara of Lee & Associates Irvine Spectrum office. John Sullivan, also of the firm's Irvine Spectrum office, represented the seller, Carnegie Construction Co.

San Juan Capistrano had no new industrial projects under construction at the end of the third quarter, according to research by Cushman & Wakefield. However, a total of 123,867 sf in industrial space has been completed in San Juan Capistrano and nearby San Clemente and Dana Point during the first nine months of 2001. The overall vacancy rate for these three regions is 4.3%, the report adds.
