The proposed development will be built on the former site of a Quality Inn Hotel. The former Quality Inn has been an eyesore to the Pontiac community for more than 10 years. The hotel has been demolished.
Located at Woodward Avenue and Martin Luther King Blvd., the medical facility will be a complete, "one-stop" facility, which will offer patients and health care professionals the latest in cutting edge technology and services, according to the Michigan Institute of Urology.
Icon Building II Inc., in association with the institute and a group of medical specialists, will construct this new medical facility.
"Health is one of the most important quality of life issues affecting our residents," Moore says. "This new medical facility will provide our residents an opportunity to experience quality health care. Many of our residents do not have access to health care services."
The Pontiac-Woodward Professional Building is proposed to be a modern, two-story, 130,000-sf, multi-specialty medical center with a diagnostic medical imaging center, a physical therapy unit, and ambulatory surgical center. Estimated completion date is spring 2002.
