Ford will occupy a 608,000-sf, build-to-suit distribution facility at Spreckels Park in Manteca, which is located about 75 miles east of San Francisco, for 10 years. Construction of the center has started and the company expects to be able to move in by next spring.
The value of lease remains confidential. Spreckels Park is a 250-acre business park, which includes anchor tenant, Home Depot.
"We are extremely pleased to have Ford Motor Co. as a new customer," says Catellus CEO Nelson C. Rising. "Including this new lease with Ford, Catellus has signed over 3.3 million square feet of new build-to-suit transactions in 2001, with 2.4 million square feet being built on land we purchased over the last 18 months."
