The new hotel, which is being built by Tech Builders, of Fairmont, MN, is located at thesouthwest corner of state highways 55 and 169, just six miles from Downtown Minneapolis. Equus Capital Management, a hotel development and investment company with headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ, will manage the hotel, expected to open in late spring 2002.
The property will feature 89 suites -- 65 studios and 24 one-bedrooms. Each suite includes a complete kitchen, recliner, 25-inch television, business desk, executive chair, and two phone lines including data port.
Equus Inc. is the parent company for Equus-Plymouth, LLC and Equus Capital Management. Equus Inc. owns hotels in Arizona, Minnesota, New Mexico and Texas. Candlewood Hotel Co. operates and licenses Candlewood Suites and Cambridge Suites, and owns some of its Candlewood Suites properties. There are now about 100 Candlewood Suites open in the US.
