Mexico Adds Hotel Discounts to Marketing Push

ORANGE COUNTY, CA-Mexico continues its efforts to attract North American tourists, as officials from Mexico City announced today that hotel rates there will be dramatically discounted during the upcoming holiday season. This stepped-up approach to tourism will create stiffer competition for Southern California hoteliers.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA-As the recent slowdown in travel has Orange County hoteliers scrambling to attract visitors, Mexico may soon pose an additional challenge to the tourism industry here. Shortly after the Mexico Tourist Board unveiled a marketing campaign directed at North American tourists, Mexico City officials have announced that hotel rates there will be significantly discounted during the upcoming holiday season.

More than 60 hotels in Mexico City will participate, offering discounts of up to 60% off regular rates. The special rates will be offered from the 16th to the 21st of November, the entire month of December and the first two weekends of January 2002.
