BURNSVILLE, MN-A committee appointed by the Metropolitan Council will hold hearings on a controversial amphitheater project in Burnsville next week. The hearings, to be held at the Met Council’s St. Paul, MN offices Nov. 19 to Nov. 21, will focus on theissue of whether the proposed the proposed $10-million, 19,500-seat amphitheater here would create substantial noise pollution in nearby Bloomington.

Parties involved, which include the cities of Bloomington and Burnsville, the developer,Rose Wild LLC, and a group of citizens who submitted a petition for the review, will present their cases the first day. The hearing will be moved to the Oak Grove Middle School Auditorium in Bloomington, 1300 West 106th St., to receive testimony frominterested persons who are not parties in the matter. The Metropolitan Significance Review Committee will make recommendations to the full Metropolitan Council Committee sometime in mid-December. The Metropolitan Council has until Jan. 2 to make a final determination.
