The carpeting distribution tenant vacated a 15,000-sf nearby location for its share of the 127,042-sf building in the 43rd Avenue Distribution Center. Allen Lowe and Stein Koss, both principals at Lee & Associates in Phoenix, represented the building owner, Boston-based Cabot Industrial Trust. Lee & Associates principal Marc Pierce negotiated the lease for the tenant.

Mohawk Industries has moved into a spot vacated about nine months ago by Montgomery Ward, Lowe tells GlobeSt.com. The 43rd Avenue Distribution Center is a 90-acre business park in which Cabot holds the title to all but one of the industrial buildings. The signing takes 1439 S. 40th Ave. building to full occupancy.

Mohawk Industries is one of the fastest-growing carpet mills in the US. Its family of brands includes such leading names as Aladdin, Alexander Smith, American Rug Craftsmen, Bigelow, Karastan and Mohawk.
