The SFSU Oakland Multimedia Center is located at the Breuner Building, located at 2201 Broadway in Oakland. With nearly 22,000-sf of classroom space, meeting rooms, and innovative computer labs, the center will host classes in Web design, Web production, information design, graphic design, 3-D modeling, animation, and more.

Brown expects that the center will add to the revitalization of Oakland's downtown area and will help educate East Bay residents on technology. "The SFSU Oakland Multimedia Center is strategically positioned in the heart of the city,'' Brown says."The center will contribute to the dynamism of downtown and offer Oaklanders and other East Bay citizens the opportunities to gain valuable skills in the field of digital media.''

Chris Marler, director of technology programs at the SFSU College of Extended Learning, says that despite the Internet industry's contraction, multimedia skills are still very important and marketable skills. "More brick-and-mortar companies are requiring skills related to digital media, ranging from creation of Web sites to the development of digital graphics and video,'' says Marler.
