Computer Repair Firm Exercises 104,000-SF Option in Round Rock

AUSTIN-DPT Inc., a repair operation for computer screens, closes an option for 104,000 sf in an under-construction building at Opus South's Crystal Park. The city sweetens the deal with a $600 incentive for every job above and beyond the 200 mark.

AUSTIN-DPT Inc., an Austin-based company that repairs computer screens, has closed on an option to lease 104,000 sf at Opus South’s Crystal Park development in Round Rock.

The new facility gives 25,000 sf of office, training and engineering space; 20,000 sf of shipping, receiving and warehouse space; and 60,000 sf of production space. It also has 500 parking spaces. DPT has outgrown its 51,500-sf facility at 9210 Cameron Rd. in Austin’s northeast submarket. The company has 190 employees and expects to have as many as 460 in four years.

The company was lured to Round Rock, in part, by an incentive program in which the city of Round Rock will pay $600 for every employee that DPT hires in excess of 200.DPT is the US subsidiary of Display Product Technologies Ltd., based in East Kilbride, Scotland. The company, which has about 450 employees worldwide, also has operations in California, Taiwan and Ireland.
