The lease starts in January and runs for five years. The Shidler Group, based in San Diego, CA, owns the building under the entity, AGBRI Exchange LP. The Exchange is a single-building complex at 8407 Wall St.
Shidler owns three other buildings in Austin, one leased by the state and one by the City of Austin. The third, 800 Brazos, is positioned for private sector tenants. The 141,727-sf Southfield building, located at 4000 S. Interstate 35 in the south submarket, houses the Texas Workers Compensation Commission while the 168,000-sf Two Commodore building at 206 E. Ninth St. in the CBD is occupied by the city. About 100 state agencies lease 11.7 million sf throughout Texas at an annual cost of $108.5 million, according to the Texas General Services Commission.
