SAN DIEGO-An office building owner near Downtown is suing the developers of a proposed 200-unit, 24-story apartment on West Ash Street at Kettner Boulevard.

Maier & Siebel of Larkspur, the owners of a 19-story, 172,000-sf office structure called the Ward Building at 610 West Ash St., filed suit in San Diego County Superior Court to stop the apartment.

The lawsuit names the Centre City Development Corp., the city Planning Commission and the City Council. According to the complaint, the apartment developer, Leo Frey of Las Vegas, was allowed to turn an 11-story project into a 24-story apartment development.
