$70-Mil Industrial Park Scheduled for Braselton

BRASELTON, GA-Braselton will get a $70 million industrial park now that Dallas, TX-based Trammell Crow Co. is purchasing 160 acres near Zion Church Road and Georgia 53. Braselton experienced fifteen minutes of fame back when actress Kim Basinger bought the town in 1990, but a flurry of new construction may give it another moment in the spotlight. New projects are planned all over the city that spans four counties–Gwinnett, Barrow, Hall and Jackson.

Trammell Crow envisions a 2.6 million-sf development with work scheduled to begin in the spring of 2002. The company had the area rezoned to accommodate its plans back in September. In a statement to the local press at that time, Trammell Crow principal Pat Henry explained that “the park’s first building would be 500,000 sf.” Speaking of the location, he adds, “now, this is the next place.” There has been no word on when the entire project is to be completed.
