Avalon Bay Opens 408-unit Luxury Complex

EDGEWATER, NJ-Avalon at Edgewater is the developer's third rental property on the Hudson River waterfront and ninth in New Jersey. More than 40% of the units are said to be spoken for.

EDGEWATER, NJ-AvalonBay Communities, based in Alexandria, VA, has opened Avalon at Edgewater, a 408-unit luxury apartment rental property. Besides the new complex, which overlooks the Hudson River, AvalonBay owns and operates riverfront properties in Fort Lee and Jersey City, and has seven other properties in New Jersey.

“The Hudson River continues to experience tremendous growth, and Edgewater is part of that redevelopment surge thanks largely to its suburban environment that’s just a short commute to Manhattan,” according to Gary Steinfield, the firm’s vice president of development. “Avalon at Edgewater also meets the state growth management plan’s intent to encourage development patterns near mass transportation options in urban areas.”
