Martinson Architects, Inc. of Green Bay, WI, designed the building and Westra Construction of Waupun, WI constructed the facility.
Located on about 70 acres in the Portage County Business Park on Interstate 39, the facility contains a warehouse, production space, distribution area to handle corporate sales orders, two phone centers -- one for corporate sales orders and one for Lands' Endconsumer calls -- a logo design area and management offices. Employee amenities include an exercise room with shower facilities and a contemporary employee lunchroom.
"Lands' End's development in the Portage County Business Park reaffirms the park's marketability and potential," says Stevens Point Mayor Gary Wescott. He compares Lands End decision to locate there much like "an anchor store distinguishes a mall."
Lands' End's Stevens Point facility is creating over 200 jobs for area residents and the company is hopeful that employment will reach 1,000 people in the next five years.
Lands End's Wisconsin operations include its headquarters, phone and distribution centers and corporate sales operations in Dodgeville, a phone center and warehouse in Reedsburg, a phone center in Cross Plains and retail outlet stores in several Wisconsin communities. The company employs about 7,900 in Wisconsin during its busiest time of year.
Lands' End is a global direct merchant of classically inspired clothing for men, women and children, soft luggage and products for the home. Sales in fiscal year 2001 were $1.462 billion.
