"We are pleased to welcome Susan to our management team," says Patrick Callahan senior vice president – Seattle Region, Equity Office, citing her "superior knowledge of the regional properties and leadershipin the community."
Callahan took the reigns of the new Seattle Region in October 2001. Equity Office began acquiring assets in the Pacific Northwest in 1997, when Equity Office bought a portfolio of Class A office buildingsin greater Seattle, Portland and Anchorage from developer Wright Runs tad & Co.
The company continued to grow in the area, and in July of this year completed its merger with California-based Spieker Properties, adding 2.7 million sf to the Seattle/Bellevue portfolio and 3.7 million sf to the Portland portfolio.
Susan Murphy joins the company with 25 years of real estate and marketing experience. She most recently served as leasing director for Wright Runstad, where she was a 17- year veteran. While there, she was responsible for marketing and leasing 3.5 million sf of class A high rise commercial office and retail space.
