OAKLAND, CA-In one of the larger lease deals seen in downtown Oakland this year, San Francisco State University has signed a seven-year lease with 2201 Broadway Investments LLC for 29,676 sf. The deal is valued at $6.1 million.

“This is one of the largest downtown Oakland office leases in 2001,” says Al Musante, vice president at Colliers International in Oakland and the man who brokered the deal. “This building has had almost 55,000 sf of leasing and renewal in 2001, a good number given this market.”

San Francisco State University plans to use the space for its Oakland Multimedia Center, which will serve as a conference center for corporations and organizations during the day, and classroom space in the evenings.
