AWG Developments Chosen For Newcastle Quayside Project

NEWCASTLE-AWG Developments--formerly Morrison Developments--has been selected by the regional development agency One NorthEast as preferred bidder for the last remaining site in Newcastle's Quayside area.

NEWCASTLE-The regional development agency, One NorthEast, has chosen AWG Developments as preferred bidder for the last remaining site in the Quayside district on the north bank of the River Tyne. AWG plans a £45 ($63 million) million mixed-use scheme designed by Carey Jones which will include 100,000 sf of offices; 60 apartments and 15,000 sf of restaurants.

The developer aims to submit a detailed planning application before Christmas. Completion of the project is expected to be in mid 2004.
