John Mounce, principal, and Jim Roberts, senior retail specialist in Colliers Arnold's Fort Myers office, are handling the assignment. Two of the properties are in Fort Myers, one a 107,000 sf retail facility at Market Square at 13711 Tamiami Trail. The property is a former Builders Square and is owned by the K-Mart Co.

The other Fort Myers property, located less than a mile away, is a 54,000-sf former Home Place Store. Mounce tells GlobeSt.com that this area is "ground zero for retail in Lee County." There is approximately one million sf of retail in that area, and to the west there are retailers like Costco, T.J. Maxx and Home Goods stores.

The Sarasota building is another 54,000-sf former Home Place store. The Naples property at 3701 Tamiami Trail in East Naples is an 81,000-sf former K-Mart store. In Lehigh Acres, another former K-Mart that weighs in at 99,000 sf is available at 1200 Homestead Rd. North.

Mounce says all of the buildings, except the two Home Place stores, represent sublease opportunities with K-Mart (Builders Square was formerly owned by K-Mart). The two Home Place locations are owned by CNL Realty Inc. in Orlando. Mounce says the properties could be subdivided to accommodate retailers with needs of 20,000 sf to 25,000 sf or be used as call centers or government facilities. Mounce declined to share the advertised lease rates.
