In 1997 the Atlanta Business Chronicle named Group VI as one of the city's fastest growing companies for the third time. In a statement on that milestone, company president Jim Pace explained, "We thoroughly enjoy contributing to the region, which has assisted in our own success." The construction firm was the only contractor to bid on the project. But WASA member Ted Taylor voted against Group VI and suggests a third party review the firm's plans for the structure.
