Group VI to Build City Water and Sewerage Authority's New Office

PEACHTREE CITY, GA-The Group VI Corp. wins the contract to build the new city Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) administration building. The current projected costs for the project hover around $1.25 million. WASA’s new offices will be located near Highway 74 and Rockaway Road on a nine-acre parcel of land, recently purchased for $260,000.There will also be a storage pond site on a nearby 29-acre plot.

In 1997 the Atlanta Business Chronicle named Group VI as one of the city’s fastest growing companies for the third time. In a statement on that milestone, company president Jim Pace explained, “We thoroughly enjoy contributing to the region, which has assisted in our own success.” The construction firm was the only contractor to bid on the project. But WASA member Ted Taylor voted against Group VI and suggests a third party review the firm’s plans for the structure.
