The store is the chain's eighth in Minnesota. It already has stores in Bloomington, Burnsville, Coon Rapids, Minnetonka, Richfield, Rochester and Roseville.
The typical Sportmart store is from 33,000 sf to 40,000 sf, and costs from $1.5 million to $1.8 million to build, according to Gart. Gart, the second-largest full-line sporting goods retailer in the US and operator of the Gart Sports, Sportmart and Oshman's retail sporting goods chains, also says it was opening three other Sportmart stores and aOshman's Sporting Goods store, expanding the company's retail operations to 182 stores in 25 states.
Gart is headquartered in Denver is the second-largest full-line sporting goods retailer in the US and the leading full-line sporting goods retailer in the Western US.
