The project calls for interior improvements in the hotel portion of the property. Renovations will include the refurbishment of all the guestrooms, which will entail new furniture, new carpets, wall covering and lighting. In addition, the hotel's fitness center will be enlarged and modernized. This renovation caps off a year of improvements at the Hilton property, which encompasses approximately 50,000 sf.

Hilton has chosen California-based firms to undertake the renovation. The rooms were designed by Kovacs and Associates and construction will be carried out by Interserv, according to Paul White, vice president of asset management of Strategic Hotel Capital. In addition, the new furniture is being purchased from California Contract Inc.

"It was very important for us to continue this California renovation project with California companies," White says. "We are proud to be able to make a significant investment in the local economy to ensure our long-term success in the Southern California hotel market."
