Still, the company did make a profit.
Its net income was $687,000 or $0.05 per share, compared with $830,000 or $0.06 a share in the third quarter of 2000. Revenues rose 22% to $7.9 million. A subsidiary that showed a profit of $217,000 in the same period a year ago lost $31,000 in the third quarter of this year.
In addition to Womacks, Century Casinos owns the Millennium Casino in a new Marriott hotel in Prague in the Czech Republic and has an exclusive five-year concession to operate four casinos aboard the ultra-luxury Silversea cruise vessels. It also owns the Caledon Casino, Hotel & Spa near Capetown, South Africa.
