Apple is one of several retail outlets in the 245,000-sf Market Common complex. Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn and Barnes & Noble are among its neighbors. The store -- designed to showcase the company's computers, as well as a vast selection of third party software products and other Apple inventory--is one of 25 outlets to be opened across the country.
The first two stores, one of which is at Tysons Corner in McLean, VA, opened in May of this year. "The Apple stores offer an amazing new way to buy a computer," company CEO Steve Jobs says in a statement on the debut of the retail shops. "Rather than just hear about megahertz and megabytes, customers can now learn and experience the things they can actually do with a computer."
