Gregory T. Swienton, Ryder's president/CEO, says in a prepared statement the company could operate with almost 40% less space, or about 260,000 sf, due to divestitures of business units over the years, as well as more recent consolidations and organizational changes.

Codina Realty Services, Inc. of Miami is looking for an alternative site for Ryder. No specific timetable has been set for completion of the relocation project.

Ryder has been headquartered in Miami since its formation in 1933, except for 1952-57, when it relocated to Jacksonville, Florida.
