Teleport Communications Houston Inc. has signed an eight-year, three-month lease for 2,952 sf. The company is paying $828,000 for this lease, but leasing manager Dan Egger of Jones Lang LaSalle, who represented the landlord in the lease transaction tells GlobeSt.com this lease is a renewal of a portion of the total space Teleport occupies in the building.

He says the tenant, which stores switch equipment for local service in the space, started with a lease for 11,043 sf at the building in 1994. The company has expanded several times, he says, and currently occupies a total of 21,576 sf.

Teleport was represented by Scott Willenbrock of the Houston office of CB Richard Ellis. The building is co-owned by New York City-based Angelo, Gordon LP and San Diego-based Shidler Group. The building is part of a portfolio that Angelo, Gordon LP and the Shidler Group purchased in April 1998 from the Sinar Mas group of Jakarta, Indonesia.
