A4 Health Systems will add EmStat's products to its growing family of computer-based patient systems for hospital management. The acquisition makes A4, which also has a facility in Troy, MI, the largest vendor of information systems for emergency rooms in the nation.
EmStat was founded in Austin in the late 1980s and had its first installation in 1987. It now has 50 customers, which have 18,000 to 120,000 patient visits a year. A4 Health said it will retain EmStat's development and support staff at its current location in Austin. "This consolidation is going to make A4 formidable in this field," Sam Srinivasan, EmStat's chairman and CEO, said of the deal.
