The agent's latest retail bulleting forecasts that some retailers will turn their attention to town centre sites once again. And the latest forecast from the influential Investment Property Databank is that retail property will be the best-performing market sector in the coming year.
Investors and tenants are currently 'treading water' according to Knight Frank Associate Charlie Palmer. 'Both investors and tenants in the retail sector are adopting a "wait and see" approach without hitting any panic buttons,' said Palmer.' Landlords and tenants are keeping long term objectives in sight which means that whilst some spending programmes may be temporarily frozen, they're not being discarded,' he said.
