CARO, MI-The site will house a new ethanol plant, the first

CARO, MI-Michigan Ethanol LLC has begun construction on a 40-million gallon per yearcorn-to-ethanol processing facility in here.The $50-million plant would be Michigan’s only operational ethanol facilityand the first of such magnitude in the state, according to industry sources.

The plant received a $5 million state startup grant.Ken Swanson, president of the Michigan Corn Processors LLC, says in a prepared statement theplant site had been changed from the original site in Vassar due to lack ofcommunity support in that area
