The Independent School District No. 11 also hiredArmstrong, Torseth, Skold and Rydeen Inc. as the projectarchitect. The project is expected to be completed in July of2002.

STEP, is a career and technical education highschool program open to all area 11th and 12th gradestudents,. The district will build the three-story facility on the existing portion of the northeast parking lot ofAnoka-Hennepin Technical College at 1355 W. Highway 10in Anoka, MN.

The new facility will be linked directlyto the technical college building and can accommodate 700 students.Anoka County is financing the $8.5 million STEPbuilding through bonds that will be paid through alease purchase agreement with the school district.

STEP is a joint venture of the college, Anoka-HennepinSchool District 11, Anoka County and Minnesota StateColleges and Universities.
