The 110,000-sf extension will include a multi-screen cinema, health and fitness club, family entertainment centre and restaurants and bars, and more than90% of the space has already been pre-let to leading operators including Cine UK, Solar Bowl and Luminar.

Freeport's Chief Executive Sean Collidge, said: "There is natural synergy between leisure and retail. Freeport Braintree attracts millions of customers a year and both the retail and leisure developments will benefit from the increased footfall.'

The leisure development is due to complete in the Autumn 2002.
