Beyond that, the new facility also heralds the start of a waterfront redevelopment plan being implemented by Advance. The project, expected to cost upwards of $100 million, will include 400,000 sf of office and retail space, a twin to the parking garage currently under way, and 200 multifamily residential units. The Hillier Group, Princeton, is doing the planning for the project.

"This new parking garage is the first step in realizing our plans to enhance existing development and further create a sense of place on the Trenton waterfront," according to Dean O. Lundahl, SVP and regional manager for Advance. The company currently owns three building on the waterfront, totaling 230,000 sf.

"This structure is part of the infrastructure that will encourage future economic growth in the area," concludes Robert D. Prunetti, chief executive for the Mercer County government.
