A construction start on £10 million ($14.3 million) project is anticipated for the spring with completion by Christmas 2002. The scheme will comprise two retail units of 15,000 sf and 25,000 sf fronting Chapman's Yard and four retail and leisure units on St Thomas Street of between 7,500 sf and 10,000 sf each. Three of these six units are already under offer to national operators with strong interest expressed in the remaining space.

This is CNP's second retail development in Scarborough. Last year it built two units on Westborough which have been let to HMV and New. CNP Managing Director Andrew Yates said: 'Our Westborough venture was a resounding success, and we have built on the local insight that we acquired during its development to create a second scheme which will further increase Scarborough's reputation as a vibrant shopping destination and complement its distinctive character'

Jones Lang LaSalle and Wright & Partners are letting agents.
